How surcharges work at both hotels

Both hotels run the same All-Fun Inclusive plan: buffets, a la carte restaurants, bars, room service and the minibar are covered. The surcharge venues are the signature tasting rooms, a handful of premium cuts and the Sunday brunches sold to outsiders. At Hotel Xcaret Mexico, HA' is prepaid at booking. At Hotel Xcaret Arte, Le Chique and Xaak are booked through OpenTable, by phone or by email with seatings every 30 minutes and a 15-minute grace period; how and when you pay is not stated on the official pages, so ask when you reserve.

One package changes the math. The Apapaxoa Flavors of Culture package (and the Apapaxoa festival, September 18 to 23, 2026) includes one dinner at Le Chique and one at Xaak, plus HA' at Mexico, with wine pairings still extra. If you are booking during the festival, check whether your rate already includes the tasting rooms before you pay again.

Hotel Xcaret Arte: the paid list in detail

  • Le Chique. Jonatán Gómez Luna's MICHELIN-starred 27-course tasting menu, which moved into the old Chino Poblano space in February 2026. MXN 3,900 per person; the México pairing is MXN 3,000 and the international Saasil pairing MXN 5,000. Dinner only, Monday to Saturday, seatings 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Closed Sunday.
  • Xaak. Karime López's 16-course seafood-led tasting menu in Casa de la Pirámide. The official Xaak page says MXN 3,500 per person; the Grupo Xcaret blog in February 2026 said MXN 4,200. We use the official figure and flag the difference. Mexican pairing MXN 2,100, international MXN 2,900. Dinner daily, reservations 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
  • Arenal Premium Grill. The dinner menu at Arenal is included except four cuts listed under Premium Grill: lobster MXN 3,700, Kansas City MXN 3,000, porterhouse MXN 3,990 and tomahawk MXN 4,700. The menu lists them per cut; whether that is per person or to share is not stated.
  • Kibi-Kibi for non-Artistas guests. Officially exclusive to Casa de los Artistas guests. Blogs and one review report other Arte guests paying about USD 120 per person; one reviewer said it was not worth that. Not an official price.
  • Tah-Xido omakase. The a la carte menu and the teppanyaki tables are included. Blogs in 2025 reported the omakase at about USD 200 per person; the omakase menu itself is not published.
  • Sunday Brunch at Mercado de San Juan. Included for Arte guests; MXN 3,000 per person for outside visitors, reserved via OpenTable or 984 257 7200. Sundays 10:00am to 4:00pm, 18+ per the brunch page.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: the paid list in detail

  • HA'. Carlos Gaytán's tasting menu, the hotel's signature room. USD 149 per person, prepaid, adults only, reservation required, resort elegant dress. Open to external diners. It is the one venue at Hotel Xcaret Mexico every guest pays for.
  • Fuego. Casa Fuego's Italian-Mexican restaurant is included for Casa Fuego guests at every meal. Guests of other Casas can book dinner for about USD 65 per person; the Casa Fuego Rooftop stays closed to them.
  • Brunch Dominical at Las Cuevas. MXN 4,500 per person (about USD 257) as of July 2026, reservations required, open to external diners. Las Cuevas dinner the rest of the week is included; on Sundays dinner opens at 7pm after brunch.
  • Xin-Gao omakase. Luis Arzapalo's Japanese room includes teppanyaki, robatayaki and fusion; the omakase is listed as extra cost with no published price.
  • Arriba Baja. Casa Eclipse's signature restaurant is included for Eclipse guests. Our database marks a surcharge for other guests as likely, and our Casa guide marks it unconfirmed. No price is published.

Wine pairings: paid extras at included restaurants

Pairings are the surcharge people forget. Encanta at Hotel Xcaret Arte is an included tasting menu, but its pairings cost MXN 1,100 (Pairing) or MXN 1,600 (Premium Pairing), per the wine list uploaded October 8, 2024. Le Chique and Xaak charge for pairings on top of the menu price, and the Apapaxoa package excludes pairings too. At Hotel Xcaret Mexico we have no published pairing prices for HA'; ask when you prepay.

Is any of it worth paying for?

Guest opinion splits. Xaak scores 4.9 of 5 from 160 TripAdvisor reviews, yet a June 2026 review called it very expensive for the taste and some bloggers say it is not worth the extra cost on top of an all-inclusive stay. Le Chique is too new for a verdict. On the Kibi-Kibi surcharge, the one detailed review we found said no. Our reading: if you eat one paid meal at Hotel Xcaret Arte, make it Le Chique or Xaak on a night you would otherwise have spent at an included tasting menu such as Encanta, and skip the Kibi-Kibi fee unless you are curious about Yucatecan-Lebanese food specifically. At Hotel Xcaret Mexico, HA' remains the one splurge most guests do not regret, and Brunch Dominical is a full afternoon, not a meal.

Currency and price notes

  • Arte prices are published in Mexican pesos. USD figures in this guide come from blogs and are approximate; our Arte research assumed about 18.5 MXN per USD, which is itself unverified.
  • Mexico prices come from the official Hotel Xcaret Mexico gastronomy page as recorded in our database; HA' and Fuego are quoted in USD there, Brunch Dominical in MXN.
  • Prices change. Every row above carries the date we last saw it. Confirm at booking, and tell us if you see a different number on property.
