Which Casa should you book at Hotel Xcaret Mexico?
Your Casa decides a lot more than where you sleep. It dictates which rooftops you can walk onto, which restaurants skip the surcharge, and whether there will be kids in the adjacent pool. Here is the short version, then the full matrix.
TL;DR
- Casa Fuego or Casa Eclipse for adults-only. Fuego is beachfront with a private rooftop; Eclipse is the serene river-and-waterfall retreat anchored by Arriba Baja.
- Casa Viento or Espiral for swim-up rooms with garden views at a moderate rate.
- Casa Luna, Vida, or Sol for a newer room with a rooftop pool that still welcomes kids.
- Casa Tierra for the lowest nightly rate without giving up meaningful access.
First, what is a Casa?
Hotel Xcaret Mexico is not a single hotel tower. It is a cluster of ten standalone buildings called Casas, each with its own lobby, pool, rooftop, and in most cases a signature restaurant. Booking the resort means picking one Casa to live in for the week. Inside, everyone shares the same all-inclusive — the beaches, the river, most of the restaurants. Outside that common ground, every Casa has different rules about which rooftops you can walk onto, which restaurants you can eat at without a surcharge, and whether there are kids in the adjacent pool.
The ten Casas split into three groups: two adults-only Casas, Casa Fuego (beachfront, premium) and the newer Casa Eclipse (a serene river-and-waterfall retreat); the original mixed-age Casas Tierra, Espiral, Viento, and Agua; and the newer 2025-built Casas Luna, Vida, Sol, and Cielo. The quiz below sorts you into the right group in under a minute.

The Casa numbering decoder
Hotel Xcaret Mexico is laid out as a cluster of Casas, each a standalone building of suites arranged around its own pool, lobby, and restaurants. Inside, everyone shares the same resort. Outside, every Casa has slightly different rules.
- The first digit of your room number is your Casa number.
- The third floor is always the street level.
- The fifth floor is where each Casa's lobby and rooftop live.
- Casa 1 is Tierra. Casa 2 is Fuego. Casa 3 is Espiral. Casa 4 is Viento. Casa 5 is Agua.
- Newer Casas add Luna, Vida, Sol, Cielo, and the adults-only Eclipse. They follow the same floor logic.
Casa Fuego, the beachfront adults-only one
Casa Fuego is one of two adults-only Casas on property (the other is Casa Eclipse, below). Fuego is the beachfront one: if you are a couple who wants quiet pool decks facing the Caribbean, a private rooftop, and the exclusive Fuego restaurant downstairs, it is the obvious pick. Expect to pay materially more per night than any mixed-age Casa.
The adults-only Casas are the ones worth requesting explicitly at booking. Most other Casas are assigned by the front desk at check-in, and assignments can shift. If you want Casa Fuego (or Casa Eclipse), request it directly with the hotel when you book (Booking.com’s special-requests box, or by emailing the concierge once your reservation is confirmed). The wish list on this site doesn’t hand it off — Casa requests have to go to the resort directly.
Casa Fuego guests unlock four things other guests do not get for free:
- Fuego restaurant without the $65 surcharge.
- The adults-only Casa Fuego Rooftop and its pool.
- Changarrito Fuego, a quiet open-air cocktail spot.
- The adults-only sports bar tucked inside Cantina Los Faroles.

Book your tripCasa Eclipse, the river-and-waterfall adults-only one
Casa Eclipse arrived with the 2025 expansion (the resort’s second phase) and is filed under “Adults Only” alongside Casa Fuego. Where Fuego faces the Caribbean, Eclipse sits inland along the river — a water-and-waterfall environment built for couples, solo travelers, child-free extended family, or groups of friends. Rooms offer direct river access, lush views, and complete privacy. Grupo Xcaret frames it as an exclusive refuge for adults, surrounded by water and designed for comfort in harmony with nature — elegance and serenity over scene.
The anchor amenity is Arriba Baja, an adults-only, chef-driven restaurant from Baja California chef Sheyla Alvarado (hence the name), inspired by Northern Mexico and crowned by a stunning indoor waterfall.
How it differs from Casa Fuego, plainly:
- Casa Fuego — beachfront and scene-forward; a self-contained Casa with its own reception, gym, the Fuego restaurant, and the glass swimming-bridge rooftop, all exclusive to Fuego guests.
- Casa Eclipse — the newer river-and-waterfall retreat, serene rather than scene-forward, anchored by Arriba Baja rather than Fuego’s Mediterranean-fusion dining.
Unconfirmed — verify with the resort
There’s reportedly a rooftop pool bar on top of Casa Eclipse (around 18+, open roughly 10 a.m.–8 p.m., smart casual, snacks, walk-ins OK). One third-party dining guide claims rooftop access is limited to Casa Fuego guests, La Casa de la Playa guests, and certain Mexico Destination Club members — which contradicts Eclipse being its own bookable adults-only Casa. Treat the rooftop access rule as unconfirmed and check with the resort before counting on it.
Planning to book Casa Eclipse?
Book your tripSwim-up Casas (Viento, Espiral, Tierra, Luna, Vida, Sol)
Six Casas offer swim-up suites where a ground-floor room opens directly into a shared pool. The trade-off is privacy. Swim-up rooms sit at garden level, so passersby can see through the sliding doors. Book an upper-floor room if that matters.
Families with kids
Casa Fuego and Casa Eclipse are both off-limits — they are the two adults-only Casas. Every other Casa welcomes children. If you want a rooftop your kids can use, aim for Luna, Vida, or Sol. If you want to be near the family pools and kids club, Tierra and Espiral tend to sit closer to them.
Dining access matrix
This is the table nobody publishes plainly. Here is what each Casa booking actually buys you at the restaurants and rooftops.
| Venue | Casa Fuego | Casa Eclipse | Other Casas |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fuego | Included | $65 surcharge per person | $65 surcharge per person |
| Casa Fuego Rooftop | Included | Not accessible | Not accessible |
| Arriba Baja (Casa Eclipse) | Unconfirmed — ask resort | Included (adults-only) | Unconfirmed — ask resort |
| Casa Eclipse Rooftop | Adults-only (~18+); access rules unconfirmed — verify with resort | ||
| HA' | $149 / person | $149 / person | $149 / person |

Prices are as reported on the official Hotel Xcaret Mexico gastronomy page and may change. Confirm at booking. Casa Eclipse access details — Arriba Baja for non-Eclipse guests, and the Eclipse rooftop — are not officially published yet; treat them as unconfirmed until the resort verifies.
What Grupo Xcaret does not tell you
- Construction is ongoing. Casas Luna, Vida, and Sol are actively being built out through 2025–2026. If quiet matters, ask for a room on the far side from active construction when you arrive.
- Casa assignment rules shift. Guests report being moved between Casas at check-in or mid-stay. If a Casa amenity is your reason to book, email the concierge the week before to confirm.
- Distances are real. The property is big. Expect a 10–15 minute walk from the furthest Casa to HA' or Teatro del Río.
- Casa lobbies are on the 5th floor. The street level is the 3rd floor. This confuses almost everyone on day one.
Common booking mistakes
- Booking an adults-only Casa with a young child. Casa Fuego and Casa Eclipse are both adults-only; the front desk will re-Casa your reservation.
- Assuming Casa Tierra is closest to the beach. It is not.
- Skipping reservations because Casa grants access. Casa choice does not unlock reservations. HA', Teatro del Río, Fuego dinner, and Brunch Dominical all require separate bookings, often a month out.
- Forgetting the dress code for HA'. It is resort elegant, not swim casual. Pack accordingly.
Eating here without staying here
Two venues are open to external diners. HA' welcomes non-guests at $149 per person. Brunch Dominical at Las Cuevas is $100 per person for externals on Sundays. Both require advance reservations through the resort's guest services inbox.
Common questions
Which Casas at Hotel Xcaret Mexico are adults-only?
Two Casas are adults-only: Casa Fuego and Casa Eclipse (added in the 2025 expansion). Children cannot stay in either. Casa Fuego is beachfront, with the exclusive Casa Fuego Rooftop and the Fuego restaurant. Casa Eclipse is the serene river-and-waterfall option, anchored by the adults-only Arriba Baja restaurant and its indoor waterfall.
What is the difference between Casa Fuego and Casa Eclipse?
Both are adults-only. Casa Fuego is beachfront and self-contained, with its own reception, gym, the Fuego restaurant, and the glass swimming-bridge rooftop, all exclusive to Fuego guests. Casa Eclipse is the newer, inland river-and-waterfall retreat with direct river access from the rooms, anchored by Chef Sheyla Alvarado's adults-only Arriba Baja restaurant. Fuego leans scene-forward; Eclipse leans serene.
Do I need to stay in Casa Fuego to eat at Fuego restaurant?
No, but non-Casa-Fuego guests pay a $65 per person surcharge to dine at Fuego. Casa Fuego guests eat there without the extra charge.
What is the difference between Casa Viento and Casa Espiral?
Both offer swim-up suites and mixed-age access. Casa Viento sits closer to the beach promenade, while Casa Espiral centers around its own pool. They are similar in price and vibe.
Do the newer Casas (Luna, Vida, Sol) have their own rooftop pools?
Yes. Casas Luna, Vida, and Sol each gained dedicated rooftop bars and pools in 2025. They are not adults-only, so families can use them.
Which Casa is cheapest?
Casa Tierra usually carries the lowest nightly rate. You still get full dining access to every venue except Fuego restaurant (with a surcharge) and the Casa Fuego Rooftop.
Can I eat at Hotel Xcaret Mexico without staying there?
Yes, for two venues. HA' restaurant is open to external diners at $149 per person including wine pairing. Brunch Dominical at Las Cuevas accepts external guests on Sundays starting around $150 per person.
How does the Casa numbering work?
The first digit of your room number matches your Casa number. Casa 1 is Tierra, 2 is Fuego, 3 is Espiral, 4 is Viento, 5 is Agua. The 3rd floor is always the street level. The 5th floor is the Casa lobby. Newer Casas (Luna, Vida, Sol, Cielo, and the adults-only Eclipse) follow a similar logic.
Is Casa Fuego worth the upgrade?
If you are an adult couple who values quiet, an exclusive rooftop, and in-Casa dining without surcharges, yes. If you want the widest variety of restaurants and pools with family access, save the money and pick Viento or Espiral.
Does booking a Casa lock me out of other restaurants?
Almost never. The all-inclusive package covers all restaurants and bars outside Fuego (surcharge for non-Fuego guests), Casa Fuego Rooftop (Fuego-only), and HA' (which carries an extra fee for all guests regardless of Casa).
Can Casa assignment change at check-in?
Sometimes. Grupo Xcaret occasionally moves guests between Casas during stays or at check-in, especially when Casa-exclusive amenities are closed for maintenance. If the Casa was a primary reason for your booking, confirm before arrival.
