Cayuco is a Surf and turf and Mediterranean-Mexican poolside restaurant at Hotel Xcaret Arte, in Casa del Diseño, next to the main infinity pool; Wet Bar Cayuco attached.

Description

The poolside all-day restaurant in Casa del Diseño, with tables that seem to float over the water. Officially it is now a "surf and turf" menu; for years it was Mediterranean with Mexican coast ingredients (pastas, carpaccios, wood-oven pizzas). It is the calmer alternative to the buffet for breakfast, with a mimosa cart. Walk in, swim-casual by day.

What people like

  • Less crowded than Mercado de San Juan, with a well stocked mimosa cart.
  • Pool views from tables that seem to float over the water.
  • A preferred breakfast spot for many guests, with fun servers.
  • Melted cheese, mussels, carpaccio and calamari are favorites.

What people dislike

  • Dinner is tasty but not particularly unique.
  • Habanero garnishes can surprise.
