Wedding guide · step 2 of 5
What will a wedding at Hotel Xcaret Mexico cost you?
Xcaret doesn't publish wedding prices. Here's what the packages cost, what a real wedding added up to, and a calculator for your own numbers. Jump to the calculator.
Pricing reviewed 2026-07-25. Xcaret raises wedding pricing annually; the published 2028 sheet is about 7% above 2026.
The packages
| Package | Price | Guests included | Extra guest | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Encanto (elopement) | about $6,100 symbolic * | 15 | $220 | Dinner is a restaurant reservation, not a private reception |
| Paraíso (the standard) | $16,750 symbolic | 30 including the couple | $220 | The one most couples book |
| Paraíso, legal | $17,750 (or base plus $1,000) | 30 | $220 | Apostille not included |
| Paraíso, Catholic | $16,750 to $18,250 | 30 | $220 | Sources conflict. The chapel fee may be bundled or not |
| Amor y Mar | about $18,250 * | 30 | n/a | Xcaret Park overwater venue |
| Río de Amor | about $21,500 * | 70 | n/a | El Caracol ceremony, La Isla reception, 5-hour bar, 5-hour DJ |
| La Casa de la Playa | about $22,500 | 30 | $240 | The ultra-premium sister property |
| Prehispanic ceremony | plus $4,232 | n/a | n/a | Add-on to any package |
* Encanto, Amor y Mar, and Río de Amor pricing comes from a third-party page with no year stated, so treat it as directional. Paraíso, La Casa de la Playa, and the Prehispanic add-on are confirmed against a published 2026/2027 sheet.
Prices go up every year. The 2028 price sheet already has Paraíso at $17,923 and extra guests at $236, roughly 3% to 4% more each year. Old pages still quoting $190 per extra guest, or $4,950 for Encanto, are out of date.
In 2019, one couple's quote jumped from $5,400 to $6,500 between the phone call and the written contract. Get your quote in writing, with a date on it.
Be equally skeptical of promo packages. A "Sunset" package at $3,950 for 50 guests circulates on several sites. So did "Alebrije" at $2,800, which the resort has now discontinued with, per one agency, no plans to bring it back.
What Paraíso actually includes
Ceremony venue, symbolic minister, gazebo, ceremony table with florals, chairs, mic and speakers, a 45-minute live soloist, sparkling wine toast. A one-hour cocktail hour with premium bar and four passed appetizers per guest. A private reception across up to two venues, with a three-course plated dinner (buffet is required at 50 or more guests), a four-hour premium bar, a four-hour DJ, and a 16x16 dance floor. Personal flowers for the couple, plus up to four wedding-party pieces. A two-hour photo session. Then a wedding-night amenity, next-morning breakfast, 15% spa discount for all guests, a room upgrade, and a fourth-night-free certificate for your first anniversary.
Not included in this: florals and decor beyond the basics, photography and video, entertainment, a fancier cake, hair and makeup, a welcome party, a rehearsal dinner, and the getting-ready suite. This is where the money goes.
The real numbers
One couple published their full invoice for a 53-guest wedding:
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Resort package (a now-discontinued promo) | $2,800 |
| Resort additional services: DJ fee, decor fee, photo vendor fee, photobooth, cake, hair and makeup, soloist, sparklers, toast wine | $14,507 |
| Florals and decor (outside vendor) | $12,558 |
| Photo and video, 8 hours with drone | $6,000 |
| Total | $35,866, or about $676 per guest |
Rooms are not in that number.
Look at line two. The resort's extra charges alone were five times the package price. The package is just the entry fee. Everything that makes the wedding look like the photos costs extra.
Rules of thumb from planners: about 40 guests runs $25,000 to $35,000, not counting rooms and flights. Photography is $3,000 to $6,000. Flowers and decor average $4,000 to $7,000, and $12,500 and up is easy to hit.
The bridal getting-ready suite is $1,500 for a four-hour window, or $2,000 with the salon, and it comfortably fits two or three people. A Junior Suite for three nights costs about the same and is nine times the size.
Now run your numbers
The prices are estimates based on all of the information we can find, and yours will most likely be different. This is just to help with planning. Xcaret will provide you with the real prices.
▸Step 2 · Vendors and extras (optional)
Bringing your own vendors costs $870 to $1,500 each, unless they stay 3 nights in your room block. Then it’s free.
▸Step 3 · Rooms and guests (optional)
The resort requires at least 80% of your guests to stay at the hotel for 3 nights.
One source says 16% tax plus a 15% to 20% service charge gets added on top of the package price. We couldn’t confirm it.
Your estimate
$29,100 to $37,000
That's about $661 per guest, not counting rooms. For comparison, one real couple paid $676 per guest for 53 guests.
Ask the resort one question early: does your quote already include tax and service charge? One source says they get added on top. If that's true, it would add roughly $8,298 here.
- Package $16,750
- Extra guests $4,400
- Vendor fees $1,000
- Day passes $900
- Outside extras $10,000
Room block: 20 rooms, about $54,360
Your guests usually pay for their own rooms, so we keep this out of your total. Step 3 has a toggle to add it in.
Due at signing ≈ $6,345 · Due 60 days out ≈ $26,705 (assumes a 30% deposit; some say it's 50%, so ask)
This is an estimate based on 2026 prices. Your official quote will be different. Use this as a starting point, not a promise. Pricing reviewed 2026-07-25.
Problem: A Saturday wedding at Hotel Xcaret Mexico requires a minimum of 25 rooms for 3 nights. Your guest list only fills 20, so you'd be paying for empty rooms. Hotel Xcaret Arte only asks for 11 rooms, any day, at the same package price. It's adults only (16+). See the rule
Savings: You're paying $1,000 in fees for your outside vendors. Give them rooms in your block for 3 nights and the fees go away. Their rooms count toward your minimum too. See the rule
Good to know: With 50 or more guests, dinner becomes a buffet instead of a plated 3-course meal.
Good to know: 10 of your guests aren't staying at the hotel. Day passes cost $90 each, start about an hour before the ceremony, and end when the reception ends. No after-party for them. See the rule
Good to know: You can add guests to your contract later, but you can never remove them. Start with a number you're sure of. See the rule
Deposits and deadlines
- Wedding package deposit: 30% of the package plus 30% of guests over 30. One planner says 50%. Confirm which applies to you.
- First payment has to be a wire transfer. Cards are accepted after that.
- Final wedding payment: 60 days out. Final room payments run earlier, roughly 75 to 85 days.
- Room deposit, booked direct: reportedly around $15,840 for a 20-room block. Through a travel agency, about $100 per room, so roughly $2,000. That claim comes from the agencies themselves, but a $14,000 difference is worth checking.
- Rooms can typically be released without penalty until about 5 to 6 months out.
- No source publishes a cancellation or date-change policy. Multiple TripAdvisor reviews reference non-refundable deposits and shifting penalty terms.
Our experience, for whatever it's worth. When we cancelled in 2020, we did not get money back. We got a resort credit with an expiration date attached, and the same pandemic that forced the cancellation kept us from using it before it expired. We are one data point from an extraordinary year, and the resort was not uniquely bad about this in 2020. But it is the reason we say this next part plainly: get the cancellation and date-change terms in writing, and ask specifically what form a refund takes, whether a credit expires, and whether that expiration can be extended. Do it before you wire anything.
