It's a half-day park (3 to 4 hours), so pair it with something. A common combo is Xenses in the morning and Xplor Fuego in the evening.

Great filler for arrival day: drop your luggage, grab a bite, and shuttle over while you wait for the 3 p.m. check-in.

Lockers are free. There's no full restaurant, only snacks and drinks for a small fee, so eat before you go.

Don't miss the free fresh lemonade at the citrus garden (the "lemonade tree"). Ask a staffer where to find it.

You'll get both wet and muddy (the Slip and Sludgery activities), so wear a swimsuit under your clothes, bring water shoes, and pack a change of clothes.

It's about optical illusions and messing with your senses, not rides. Go in playful and open-minded.

Reef-safe sunscreen only. The parks enforce biodegradable sunscreen (titanium dioxide or zinc oxide only); regular sunscreen is not allowed and you may be asked to rinse it off. Buy it before you arrive, since park shops mark it up.

Water shoes are the single most useful thing to pack. They are required for some Xplor activities and useful everywhere; sandals slip off on zip-lines and in rivers.

Pack light, because lockers are small. Lockers are free at Xenses and included with Xcaret Plus; otherwise expect a fee.

Protect your phone. Bring a waterproof case on a neck strap or a GoPro, since many activities need both hands.

Photo passes are pricey but capture shots you can't get yourself. They're most worth it at night at Xplor Fuego, where personal cameras struggle.
